Christmas On The Block came back again in 2017 with even more impressive numbers. Over 500 urban kids, youth, and families, along with 70 volunteers, came together to celebrate the birth of Jesus at CHRISTMAS ON THE BLOCK! This is an event that happens every 2nd Saturday of each month at the GraceCity Center where volunteers and staff get together to make an impact in the community by providing a free lunch, praying for the people, playing sports, and building relationships. It’s a lot of fun for everyone involved, especially the kids because its a great atmosphere and positivity all around. We’re so happy to be a part of this great organization that truly makes an impact in the lives of other people. Starting with the pancake breakfast, many volunteers gathered at the Gracecity Center to help clean up the neighborhood of Old North Sacramento and show love to the community. We had a great time capturing their amazing efforts and interviewing some of the volunteers. Chris, the Executive Director of GCC, asked some interesting questions that brought out really encouraging and heartfelt answers about hope and also what it means to make a difference in the lives of people who might have lost hope due to personal struggles.
